Recommended Commercial Color Printing Companies:
If you are looking to have some printing done by a commercial printing company then here are a few things you should consider ahead of time.
1. Remember To Save Your Color Artwork & Design as a CMYK file instead of an RGB file - RGB files are only for viewing on a screen or computer. Printing presses whether digital or offset, need to convert files to CMYK in order to print them. Make sure you convert your file to CMYK before you send it to be printed. You will want to make sure you are happy with the colors before you print. CMYK colors look slightly different than RGB.
2. What is 4-Color Printing? Four color printing is another term for CMYK, which is short for cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black). Most printing presses need files and artwork to be converted to CMYK before printing. RGB files cannot be printed by a printing press.
3. To Verify Colors Order a Sample Proof - All printing companies will send you a sample proof before you begin printing your full order. Many companies will send you a sample proof for free. Find out what your prospective company is willing to do before you accept their quote.
4. Compare Quotes - Commercial printers vary widely when it comes to price, so make sure you shop around for the best deal. Printing companies have different specialties and some companies are able to offer deep discounts on certain products that other printers are unable to match. Try to compare at least 5 quotes before you commit.
